Theme for September wedding?

Hello, I'm looking for a theme for my September wedding. It will most likely be outdoors in a rose garden or botanical garden. I'm not a big fan of roses and I don't feel personally attached to apples. Help!

Me, personally, I'd just stick with the classic theme. You're going to have enough decorations from the garden itself. I'd do all my stuff in the black, white %26amp; champagne. I'll put some links for some classic looking invites. But you should keep in mind, the invitations DO start tp set the theme of the wedding for your guests - they should be a glimpse of what is to come.





As far as the reception, if you feel you HAVE to have a theme, pick something like hearts, butterflies or wedding dresses. However, you would be wise to pull the roses thru you wind up in a rose garden. If you go botanical, pick something like the nature/fern look.





As a side note - don't fret that you're not a big fan of roses or apples. Whatever "theme" you pick, you're going to hate once this thing is over. Best to pick something you're not particularily attached to....

Reply:There are lots of themes that aren't season-based, and for September, I'd be thinking in that direction.





You could choose a fairy theme, or a country theme, a 60's or 70's or any other generation's theme. How about all hearts? Princess themes are pretty, and guess who plays the princess!





Look on wedding websites and/or at wedding catalogs for more theme ideas.

Reply:It would be pretty with a lot of different colors of leaves and stuff especially in a garden. I think a bouquet of wild flowers would be gorgeous! You can find leaf floating candles for the tables if it is in the evening...the colors would go with the outdoors and the natural beauty at that time of year is wonderful already.

They have so many ideas. I love the invitations because you can choose any color scheme. They are very helpful. They have a web site and you can order a catalog. I hope that I helped you out.
Reply:Mums are in season at that time. You don't say where you're from, but fall is an awesome time for decorating. Mini pumpkins, gourds, hay bales, changing leaves. My cousin got married last September %26amp; that is what they did for their reception - it was beautiful %26amp; definitely NOT hokey.





But... pink %26amp; chocolate brown are very "in" right now and would be a great fall choice for a color theme. Black %26amp; white are always very elegant, but having it outdoors calls for a more relaxed atmosphere.





Don't blame you about the apples!!
Reply:I had a September wedding as well. My invitations were pure white with an embossed ivy border. I carried a yellow, white and cream colored bouquet. Girls carried sunflowers and guys had yellow rose boutenieres (sp??). Cake was pure white with white roses and touches of green ivy and was surrounded on the table by berries as were the weathered looking lanterns on the tables. I hope this helps. I love the colors of autumn but thought it may be a bit too soon to use them. Good luck!!

Reply:"fall in love" theme. use an autumn leaf or leaf outline as your ensignia for programs/invites/place cards.


Ferns are also nice for Sept. Sage green and champagne would be lovely. Or sage and chocolate. Use lots of candles in jars (you can even hang them in trees) for a romantic look.

Reply:for my wedding, i went with an enchanted forest/garden theme. my ceremony was outdoors and the reception was indoors as well. it didn't really go through as planned, but at least there were still some elements of it.





at the reception area, i had some potted trees (more like shrubs. hahah!) throughout the place, wrapped in tivoli lights. i also had two fountains teeming with fishes (for the kids). i had a swing set and a park bench. my grandma was a bird breeder so i asked for 3 pairs of lovebirds. placed them in cages and hung them on the "trees." i also had butterflies flying around the area.

Reply:September is a beautiful time to get married. If you are still having 80 degree days, capitalize on that. With champagne and black, a beautiful color would be fuschia for a more tropical feel. Pair that with a celedon, add palms leaves as chargers (under the plates), fuschia orchids in a large conch shell....beautiful! Also you would be capitalizing on the "end-of-the-season" stuff.
