Can you please help with my Bridal Party situation?

I am having my wedding in April of next year at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth TX. I have 3 bride’s maids and 3 groom’s men.

I have created an “Honored Court” which means that I have girl friends ranging from the age of 20 to 65 that are helping me in the wedding and I am giving them special recognition for doing so by putting them in the wedding as an “Honored Court Member.” They will come in when the court is presented.

My dress has a Champagne Sash: (see link below)

Here is my issue………. Do I separate my Honored Court and Brides maids by color? If so how? I wanted honeydew green, but is putting all the girls in that color going to be too much? I don’t think I want Champagne because I think it will look to light in the sun…. HELP!

If you have any other color combos that do not include honeydew green and you think it works with my wedding please let me know.

Can you please help with my Bridal Party situation?
Since your honored court are not bridesmaids, I wouldn't make them wear the same color as your bridesmaids. In fact I wouldn't put them in formal bridesmaids gowns.

If your worried about clashing or if you want them to match, then a complimentary color like a darker green or a pastel color like peach, pink or coral would go nicely with honeydew. Then let them pick their own dress. You could even give them a choice of any of these colors and that way they would all be a little different.

I think it's nice that you are honoring special people this way. An honor court is a great idea!
Reply:I think that I would keep them all the same color. I think I would keep away from the green unless you have a bunch of girls who look good in that color. Red goes really well with champagne, or even a soft pink if you are looking for a lighter color.
Reply:If these 'Honored Court' members are not a bridesmaid they should not be obligated to wear any certain color or style of clothing. Make sure they have corsages/boutonnieres to set them apart from the rest of the guests, but that's all. If they choose to all wear let's say blue, or some other color but in shades and styles of their own choosing that is up to them, but you should not require it from them.
Reply:What is the difference between your "honored court" and your bridesmaids then? I don't really get the point.

Let your honored court people wear whatever they'd like, it's almost like they're not good enough to be in the bridal party, so they're in the court (which I've NEVER heard of)

Buy them corsages and boutonnieres .... But, I still can't wrap my head around the court concept.
Reply:by the way, your dress is beautiful!

i think it depends on how many people are all together in your "honored court" that determins if the honeydew green color is going to be too much between them and your brides maids. certainly, too much of one thing is not good.

here's a few ideas:

you could have your brides maids and "honored court" in the same color, but have them in differnent style dresses (the brides maids where one and the court wears another).

after all, they same dress cut doesn't flatter everyone's figure.

if you want all the court and brides maids to wear the same style you could seperate them by having the brides maids where a sash similar to yours at their waste. it would be a good contrast to the light green, set them apart, and unify them with you. or you could have a band, in the same champagne color, hemmed to the bottom of their gowns (if they're shorter dresses), or whatever color of your choice.

also, for the "honored court" you could do something like this:http://www.brides.com/fashion/dresses/ga...

not necessarily the colors or patterns, but maybe find something that does have a pattern on it that would work with your green.

you could also seperate them by letting all of them choose their style of dress, have them all be the same color, but give the two groups two different colored crossages(sp?)

personal colors of my choice that i think look good. green is my favorite color, so i like the honeydew choice, but i also think a deeper green, like a springy-olive color and a pale yellow would look good. green is a neutral, so it would work well with just about any color. green and a pale blue, green and pink, green with a punch of orange. it really just depends on your style.

i don't know what style wedding you're having and no one can ever truly get in to your head to know exactly what you want so all i can do is offer my opinion and i hope that i gave you atleast one idea you can work with... or atleast one that gets the brain juices flowing. hope you find something. maybe keep us posted on what you choose. i'm sure what you pick will look great!
Reply:The bridesmaids will have boquets while your "honored court" can only have corsages.
Reply:If you're getting married in a Botanical Garden there will be lots of green trees, grass, plants around, and I think the champagne colour would look lovely against that. In fact, I would choose other colours that match with the champagne, so you stand out a bit more. Perhaps an earthy pinky red, or an light aubergine colour. Only you can choose these things!

Wish you all the very best for your wedding! How exciting!
