As a guest to an outdoor wedding are dress slacks and linen shirt ok instead of a suit?

I think it would probably be okay to wear dress slacks and a linen shirt. It kind of depends on what you're expecting from the wedding. If it seems like it's going to be really fancy (based on the location and what you know about the people getting married), you might want to consider a jacket, or at least bring one along in case. Otherwise I think the slacks and shirt are fine. It's better to be comfortable than sweating like crazy anyway.

So I guess not. Sorry!
Reply:Depending on how formal, it should be fine..with a tie. Hawaiian shirts would be tacky. You can carry a sports coat, if need be.
Reply:You can wear dress slacks and a linen shirt but definitely bring a matching jacket too. If you feel overdressed, you can take it off but it's much better to be safe than sorry.
