Going to Vegas over Christmas break. Is there anything that is a Christmas must see or must do? Are the hotels decorated? What about special shows. I heard the Bellagio's botanical gardens are really decorated for Christmas. I know Vegas isn't exactly a "Christmas destination", but just wondering.
Any must sees over Christmas?
We have gone to LV for a couple of weeks or more every December for over 20 years. We love it.
Things to see %26amp; do
Fountains of Bellagio
Fremont Street Experience
Masquerade Show in the Sky - Rio
Sunset Stampede - Sam's Town
%26gt;These are all free and go to a Christmas theme in December.
The shopping malls, of course they dress up for Christmas
Forum Shops at Caesars Palace %26gt;Far and away the best
Miracle Mile - Planet Hollywood
Grand Canal Shoppes - Venetian
Fashion Show Mall
Some of the hotels get more into the Christmas spirit than others.
Bellagio - The Atrium is spectacular
The fountain area at Caesars Palace is really pretty.
The second level at Excalibur is nice and they have a Santa for the kids.
The pool area at the Flamingo is pretty.
There are usually a few special shows for Christmas

Just put the dates in that you will be in LV, you will get info on every show %26amp; or event that will take place while you're in town.
The Nevada Ballet is putting on "The Nutcracker" from the 14th until the 27th($39 to $72)
Not sure what this one is exactly, but it sounds interesting.
Hawaiian Christmas - South Point 12/20-24 %26gt;No info on ticket prices
Johnny Mathis is at the LV Hilton the 21st %26amp; 22nd($60-$90)

Reply:The Bellagio has a beautiful display and I believe they host a gingerbread house display with all the top chefs in Vegas - they are really elaborate. There is also an Opportunity Village (google it with the word Vegas) where there are different displays - nice for the little ones. There is also a drive through light park. I don't know if that is a good description, but it's another charity event.
All the big hotels decorate it up nice. I go to Vegas every Christmas and it is always a nice time.
Reply:There's this show at Rio.. I forgot..I went like 2 years ago in Christmas and it was mostly dancers, etc but they gave free stuff
Reply:All hotels are decorated for the Christmas holidays, including their shopping centers located within them. You must go and see the gardens at the Bellagio. That place is outstanding!
Reply:Check out Vegas.com It has every thing on that site.
Reply:I live here but the greatest place to see is Wayne Newton's house. He really decorates the place. It is one of the greatest light shows in the area.
Right near the airport.
Reply:I am pretty sure Lake Las Vegas has a thing for Christmas. They usually have strolling singers and an ice rink and they decorate there shopping area. They might have concerts too, special holiday themed ones. Check it out on their website. It is really nice down there and they have some pretty good restaurants too. Good luck. btw, The Bellagio's Botanical Gardens are not to be missed, they are sooo pretty also catch the fountain show too, they will play christmas music. :)
Reply:Ethel M. has a great Christmas display outdoors. It's free and something to see. It's all cacti decorated for Christmas. They do a real good job with the lights.
The hotels and casinos really don't do too much except for the Bellagio like you mentioned. If you want Christmas feel go somewhere other than here. It really isn't cold and just a jacket will do. Don't even think of snow unless you go up to Mt. Charleston.
