Free things to do & Everglades tour in Boca Raton? Good nightlife?

Myself and my best friend are going to Boca Raton, FL for a week in July. We're pretty tight on money, so we're looking for free or cheap things to do. I found a few nature centers and a botanical garden that are free, but we also definitely want to see the Everglades. The one everglades tour I found was a bit over $30 per person. Does anyone know a cheaper way to visit the Everglades??

Any other free or cheap things to do or places to visit?

How about snorkeling? Good spots and cheap rentals?

ALSO, if anyone has any suggestions for places to go at night, let me know!!

Thanks!

If you have a rental car you may want to make your way down the Keys. John Pennycamp Park has some great snorkeling sites, and boat toars to take you out to reefs are pretty cheap. If you make your way to Hollywood check out the Seminole Indian Tribe. They often have Airboat tours that go out into the Everglades. You can also check out Anne Kolb Nature Center in Hollywood Fl. It has kayaking tours, mangrove swamps and is near the beach so after you can hang out there which is completely free.
Reply:If that $30 tour includes transportation from Boca to the Everglades then its a good price, especially now with the price of gas. l recomend that John Pennekamp park also, its a good way to see the glades, its about a 3 hour drive from Boca....also, You can drive to Flamingo, located inside the park %26amp; take some walking %26amp; boat tours.

In Boca, You might want to visit, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center , located a bit south of Spanish River Blvd on A1A. This is a small free park with walk paths, a tower, museum %26amp; salt water tanks behind the building with local sea life.

As for nightime, In Boca, there is Mizner Park right in downtown, an upscale trendy area that is worthy of a visit for the shops, restaurants %26amp; entertainment. Just north of Boca in Delray try Atlantic Ave, filled with bars, it attracks a younger crowd who go there to party.

Have a good vacation.
