Things to do in Chicago... especially free.?

Hello. I've begun thinking about my next vacation which I'll take in the spring. I want to go to DC and possibly NYC or Richmond, Virginia. My gal thinks since I've been there before I should go another direction. Chicago does not seem to offer very much but I'm trying to find out. What are the best things to see? I'm very much into nature sites like botanical gardens and such, and I know there's one garden there. So what are the best places to see, and is the subway system easier to deal with than NYC's? Thanks for the input.

Well the museum campus is good place to go. There are days when general admission is free. You can try checking out the Adler planetarium, shedd aquarium, and field museum websites. Lincoln Park Zoo also has free admission and there's a beautiful park right in front of it. The park has a couple of nature centers. You can also have a picnic in Grant park. About the train system It is very easy to use. It's not as complicated as the one in NY. The public transportation has a website with a trip planner. Good Luck! Chicago is a beautilful City. Hope you enjoy your trip!
Reply:Chicago Rocks! Make sure you check out the Chicago Historical Museum, we make NYC look like a slum!
Reply:Definitely see the museums, navy pier, millenium park, and see some shows. Chicago has a ton of great restaurants, too.
