Can you bake things with mesquite flour?

so I'm at the desert botanical garden in my hometown of phoenix, az and I learned that you can take the dried bean pods from mesquite trees and grind them up to make flour...i was just wondering can you bake things with that flour? like cakes or cookies or something? would it be a healthier alternative to regular wheat flour? I'd appreciate the help

Never read a recipe that included that. I guess it would all depend on the taste and consistency of it. As long as it's comparible to regular flour, i don't think it would be a problem. Experiment!
