Fort Worth Botanical Garden?

where can I find a list of trees and flowers for this garden? Their website doesn't have a lot of information about the plants.

Fort Worth Botanical Garden?
This site gives a list of what's in bloom:

http://www.fwbg.org/whats_in_bloom.htm

There are several rose gardens, a perennial garden, a fragrance garden, a Japanese garden, a trial garden, a Texas native forest, a water conservation garden, %26amp; a waterwise garden which includes agave, Texas sage, salvia greggii, Mexican Bush sage, red yucca and Esparanza.

A four seasons garden includes hundreds of varieties of iris, daylily, and chrysanthemum:

http://www.fwbg.org/four_seasons.htm

Luxuriant tropical foliage fills the 10,000 square foot Conservatory, which features orchids, bromeliads and exotic trees from around the world:

Click on the photos for a 360 view of each garden:

A forum about the various types of roses in the Forth Worth Botanical garden:

Sorry, I couldn't find a complete list of flowers %26amp; trees in the Forth Worth Botanical gardens. That would be a great help if someone would compile one %26amp; post it. Since their trial garden is always testing new plants to see how they adapt to the area, I believe that that type of list would be constantly changing %26amp; would have to be updated often.

Good luck!!!
Reply:Wow, that is a broad question.

I am sure they have a listing of all the plants that are grown...but I can't imagine someone taking the time to put it on the website.

Probably best if you bring a pen and paper when you visit and write down the names of the plants you desire.

Like the other poster said, there are many different gardens within the Botanical Garden (the Conservatory is my favorite area) and all of them have hundreds of plants.

How much would it cost to build a Botanical Garden the size of the San Francisco Golden Gate Park in Montana?

First you have to consider climate, and population... are there that many people in Montana interseted to visit this venture....

I would take an estimate of square footage times the proposed selection of plant species....

Good luck on your venture

Duh!! Quite a .lot and would it be worth it?
Reply:This sounds like a pretty hefty investment. I would suggest that you prepare yourself to spend more than a thousand dollars.

You are walking through a Botanical Garden and you see a 6 meter tall plant that shows no evidence of flowering, but seeds are present. To which group of plants does it belong?

A. gymnosperms

B. angiosperms

C. mosses

D. ferns

E. algae

You are walking through a Botanical Garden and you see a 6 meter tall plant that shows no evidence of...?
B. It has seeds, but not conifers like the gymnosperms. Mosses, ferns, algae cannot produce a plant that is described. Oh yeah, those flower plants give off a horrible smell when bloomed (eww). I think that's the right answer, it has been awhile since I studied botany.
Reply:gynosperm??? two opposites combined into one word. how fascinating.

Dre and Ned both work for a botanical garden. The botanical garden is adding a number of floral designs around?

The botanical garden is adding a number of floral designs around its grounds. Dre, who has more experience, can plant the flowers and make the design by herself in 3 hours. it take Ned 5 hours working by himself to make the same design. If Dre and Ned are assigned to work together, how long will it take to make the design?

Dre and Ned both work for a botanical garden. The botanical garden is adding a number of floral designs around?
This is not really a question about botany at all, but rather a math problem that must be solved using rates. Dre plants at a rate of (1 design) / (3 hours) and Ned plants at a rate of (1 design) / (5 hours). If they work together, their combined rate is 1/3 + 1/5 = 8/15 = 0.5333 design/hr, so it takes 0.53 hours, which is 32 minutes.
Reply:The theoretical answer is around a half hour. But sometimes there is synergy and the more experience worker can tell the less experienced worker how to do his job more efficiently. Thus if there is synergy the job could be done a lot quicker.

However in some cases when two people are doing a job one of the worker may goof off and even sabotage the job causing the job to take longer.

Thus 8/15 of an hour is a rough approximation and the time required to finish the job may vary. Interestingly enough since they both did the job before they may with the experience may even finish the job faster than when they did the job previously. Thus not only is this question mathematical it is also philosophical and of practical experience.

Where can I find a specialized company or individual who can build and maintain a botanical garden?

Our neghbourhood is wanting to construct and botanical garden for the area. The concept is to have an enclosed environment with all kinds of tropical plants, reptiles and butterflys. This would be for commercial purposes but we need a specialized company to construct and maintain it.

Your comments please and suggestions are welcome.

I think any local landscaping company could help you. Everyone should get together to design it but then have the landscaper build and maintain it! Or just hire someone to maintaine it....nature will maintain most of it!

I think this is a really neat project...have fun!

How does one start a botanical garden?

We have no money, no land, just the need for a botanical garden in our city ,Guadalajara, mex.

How does one start a botanical garden?
You need to get people together and organize to have one created. . . There will probably be someone that will donate land also :) Good place to start is by talking to local nurseries and gardeners/farmers in your area. . . It really could be a beautiful community project :) Good Luck to you. . . I've been thinking we need to do something like this here for quite awhile, and I think I will take my own advice at this time :)
