Also try to pick up a 'Creative Loafing" periodical for some ecclectic happenings in the Atlanta area to include good food and places to go and things to do They are free and can be found at many places throughout the city. Try any Mellow Mushroom Pizza Restaurant, and you can find one there :)

Oh yea, and the Botanical Gardens! http://www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org/ho...
Reply:georgia aquarium!! i'm not into the whole museum thing, but the fish is AWESOME!!!
Reply:I know the other guy pasted from the state tourism page, and that list is good. Here are some good activities though -

(1) See the laser show at night at Stone Mountain Park. 20 minutes east of downtown, the laser show starts when it is dark and last til about 10:15. Take a blanket and a picnic with some wine. Lots of fun.

(2) Take a trip north of the city for about an hour %26amp; half to Dahlonega, GA. Mountain town, site of first gold rush, US Mint was here, and it is just a fun little mountain town. Also see the falls nearby and go eat at the Smith House.

(3) World of Coke %26amp; Aquarium are right next to each other. Call ahead for tix.

(4) Go eat dinner at one of the Buckhead Life Group restaurants in Buckhead, esp. Fogo de Choa. Awesome food. You might also check out the Varsity (greasy food but fun), the top of the Westin downtown for great views of the city, or anywhere else that serves southern food.

(5) Go see a movie at the Fox Theatre one night - historic theatre. Normally movies play during the summer when there is not a show there. Really worth going to. Also check out the Krispy Kreme factory just down the road from there (2 min away).

(6) Go check out the Cyclorhama when you go to the zoo. They are right next to each other. I'm spelling it wrong, but it is worth seeing and shows civil war history.

(7) Go to a Braves game and go early. Check out the Buffalo hot dogs in the plaza, the Braves musuem and the Coke pavilion at night for a great view of the city.

(8) Check out Chastain Park Ampitheatre and see if any groups you want to see are in town. GREAT place to see a concert. You can take a picnic basket, set up a small table (get one from the hotel) and sit out under the stars for a concert.

Traffic is bad everywhere from 4 to 6:30 at night, so plan on being somewhere before it starts. The city is safe during the day, but it is still a metropolitan city - meaning that most people head to the suburbs after dark. You will know where is safe, so don't worry. It is tons safer than New York or Boston, and you will feel fine whereever you go. Have a nice trip!
Reply:I love Atlanta... we go for the race... but we also love the city. Six Flags is awesome... and so is Stone Mountain. You will love the aquarium if you like nature! I liked the coca cola thing too. Centinial Park is amazing too.. home of the 96 olympics. If you want a great meal... check out Ruth's Chris. It is an elegant steak house... kind of expensive and you need to make a reservation, but worth every penny! They have a web site.
Reply:Go to a Braves game! They are my favorite! Or the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, and for the nature part Callaway Gardens or Stone Mountain. Both are really nice. Hope you enjoy Atlanta!
Reply:Well, there are many things to do here. :]

Turner Field is a great place to visit.

Georgia Aquarium, Six Flags, Coca Cola Museum, Atlanta Zoo.

You could also visit Little 5 points, I think thats the name. There are tons of shops around that area.

You could visit Centennial Olympic Park. They have shops around there, also.

Underground Atlanta is also great. Here's a tip: Park somewhere and walk. Don't try to find a parking spot on the street cuz I assure you its near impossible! Plus, you can see more and not have to deal with traffic.

Have fun here! :]
Reply:I really like it there. I went to Six Flags, Underground Atlanta (Awesome), the Yellow River Game Ranch in Little Bern (you feed deer there, too), there's a town near there that is all German, but I can't remember the name of it, the Coke museum, and there are outlet stores everywhere.
Reply:Go see the Coke Cola factory on Peachtree Street. Pretty neat!
Reply:try the beach ._.
Reply:If you're coming to this nasty city you'd better be able to speak spanish and ebonics.
