My son is 3 months old and my husband and I want to bring him to the zoo. However when he goes outside,it tends to make him fall asleep. At what age should my baby be up,alert and noticing all the things to see at the zoo?Would you bring him now anyways just to get out into the nice weather? Our zoo has a nice new Botanical Garden as well as the animals.
At what age will baby be alert to experience the zoo?
at 3 months old, your son may enjoy the outdoors, he will probably enjoy more just being with you, as you watch a child grow, you will know when he notices things, that little finger will point to something magical to him, to you it may just be the neighbors cat, watch and learn, he will teach you... congratulations on the rest of your life.
Reply:You can take him whenever, but he's not going to remember. I'd wait on that until he's two or three years old so he can actually enjoy it and probably remember the experience.
Reply:i would say by 1 or 1 1/2...they become more interested in everything.
Reply:you can take him now but he will enjoy it more when he is six months and up
Reply:I doubt your baby will get much out of it - however if it's a nice day, just being out in the fresh air is good for everyone, and will be a nice relaxing day for you and your husband! I would think that by about 9-12 months they're alert enough to start seeing the world and wanting to explore it. Have fun!
Reply:i didn't take my son until he was 3yrs old. I wanted him to see and understand the animals before taking him, if you take them when they are too young they won't remember it when they are older. Most babies especially at 3 months have only short term memory and won't remember any details for very long.
Reply:We took my boy when he was 16 months, and he had a BLAST!! I think your son should at least be crawling before you take him. Any younger, and he wont even know whats going on. Its good that you are trying to get him outdoors, and have adventures!!
