Attending a wedding in in the Bronx Botanical Gardens in July and don't know NYC too well.
A friend has offered to let us crash on her couch in Manhattan, but we would prefer to find a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel that would allow us to easily attend the wedding on Friday night and then be able to explore NYC for the rest of the weekend.
Where to stay for wedding at Bronx Botanical Gardens?
there is no reasonably priced hotel or motel anywhere around NY city.
Reply:Not sure what "comfortable" means to you, but if you found any hotel room in Manhattan on a summer weekend for less than $200/night, you'd be doing well. Probably best to save the lodging $ and spend it on a cab to / car service from the wedding, good food during your weekend, etc.

Reply:Look for a hotel in New Jersey (ft lee has a nice hilton, englewood has a crowne plaza) or lower westchester, both areas have good public transportation to the city.
