I'm getting married on a budget, but I still want it to be beautiful. We are from Houston, but it was a trip to San Antonio that made us realize we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I can't seem to find many pictures of Marriage Island or Botanical Gardens, so I'm hoping for some advice on which is the nicer location.
I'm getting married in March in San Antonio. Which is better The Botanical Gardens or Marriage Island?
Marriage Island, if it's the place I'm thinking of, is *very* small, so if you're having many guests, it may not be the best option. Also, it's right on the Riverwalk, with the tour boats going by, so I'd think that having a ceremony there might be full of interruptions.
Here's a a picture of the island:

Reply:Botanical Gardens...no question. In March with all of the flowers starting to bloom, it will be free decor!!! You can focus on paying for lighting instead of a ton of flowers...

Reply:Im in hopes that you have called about prices on both as both do have a price.
I personaly prefer the botanical gardens for a few reasons...
more room
upstairs room available for the reception
less noise (crowds, boats etc)
more areas to take photos of family, friends, etc (see source)
better natural lighting
BUT on the same token the Marriage Island is nice and there are some pretty areas there.
The last time I was there I got a nice photo of the bride and groom by a small waterfall. .... and I also was red faced (angry)when an idiot on the tour boat yelled out.. DONT DO IT as they were saying their vows.
Reply:The Botanical Gardens!! They should have someone to help you choose the perfect location, just be sure and book it ASP they tend to have a backlog.
