Two questions.?

First of all, WHAT is a botanical garden?

and...

I am an Agnostic, and so is my fiance, could we still have our wedding in a church? How does that work? Do you have to be a part of their church to use it?

Two questions.?
Why would you want to be married in the house of God when you doubt his existence. But to answer your question, some churches will allow you to use their sanctuary for a fee. Your lack of faith would probably not be a deterrent as churches are notorious for welcoming non believers. That is were we make believers out of them. A botanical garden is self explanatory.
Reply:ummmm, if you're agnostic, don't waste the church's time.
Reply:You dont necessarily have to a member of a church, but most will have requirements that are placed upon you.. such as premarital counseling (with a religious basis), some even required you to move out if you leave together before marriage, and others require you to start attending the church and become members. If you don't want to change your agnostic status, you may be better off getting married in a wedding chapel or some other venue that is especially for weddings.
Reply:If your Agonistic why would you want to get married in a church. Most churches you need to be a member
Reply:You don't have to be a member of a church to use it. Members usually can use the church free of charge or for a smaller fee though.
Reply:Most churches these days will only allow their members to have weddings there. We had a very hard time finding a church for my daughter's wedding.

If you do have a wedding in a church, please know that it is hoped that you will give the church a donation.
Reply:A botanical garden is just a large park area with loads of flower beds. Usually you need to pay to enter. We have two where I live, and they're really nice - you can spend an hour or two walking around and looking at the flowers.

Why would you want to get married in a church if you're not religious? Anyway, many universities have non-denominational churches that anyone can get married in. Call the universities in your area and ask there.

I think in any other church, you need to get married by the minister (or whoever) so if you're not religious, the ceremony would mean nothing to you. (I know I wouldn't want a religious ceremony, but that's just me. I'm not religious and want to make my commitment to my partner and not to god.)
Reply:A botanical garden is a public garden that is specially designed to have the public go and visit, have picnics, etc.

Yes you do have to a practising member of the church to have a church wedding.
Reply:OMG Daisy, don't be so snotty. This young lady asked a few questions because she didn't know. As far as I know. Some churches would allow you to rent the church for your wedding and reception. A Botanical Garden is a place where exotic plants, trees, flowers grow.

Good Luck.
