Is this cheesy?

We are going to get married at a botanical garden, in their "Japanese Garden." We only want a casual dinner reception at a restaurant afterwards...

Is it too cheesy if we have the reception at a Japanese restaurant and carry on the theme from the wedding site?

Is this cheesy?
pick an upscale one that doesnt break the budget, eat sushi and drink tea (or saki) and be happy! its your day! and you could have a cake that is red and black or other asian inspired colors and do other things that are asian inspired.

BE CREATIVE!!! thats what makes the wedding MEMORABLE!!!
Reply:i think it's a wonderful idea! but make sure they serve american cuisine as well to make sure there is a variety for those who don't like or eat japanese food. good luck.
Reply:It would totally be a cool theme for a wedding. You could even get some of those fortune cookies that are special for weddings. Oh, and get those "take out" boxes as favor holders! I'd so be into it!
Reply:i don't think it is cheesey!!!. it stays with the theme and ther are many great upscale japanese restaurants around, try to find one that has japanese and a sushi bar. It's your day girl! you get to have whatever you want! The only people you need to worry about making happy is you and your husband! everyone else should be happy they were invited to spend such a special day with you!
Reply:most all weddings have a theme. You would be odd if you didn't
Reply:It's your wedding, you do what you want to do, but

I dont think it would be cheesy, so go for it!!
Reply:no sounds cool
Reply:No! That would be great! Very unique to eat Japanese at a wedding. It's got to be good luck or something.
Reply:I think it will make the whole event more memorable for you and your guests. Just make sure you go to a place with a wide variety of choices for those guest who aren't into the raw fish part.
Reply:Valveeta
Reply:no you must be crasy that sounds like a great wedding so hold you chin up high be proud of your wedding and anyway who cares what other people think!!! its your blooming wedding so get out there and injoy it and by the way

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
Reply:No, I think that's a great idea! Have you thought about using a Japanese influence for your wedding favors?
Reply:I don't find it cheesy at all, it actually sounds very nice, calm %26amp; perfect for the event!
Reply:I wouldn't think it's cheesy if the bride and or groom were japanese or there was some love of japanese that's understandable - you guys lived there, moving there, speak it, etc.

Not sure if I think its cheesy otherwise, but it's always good to have a theme...
Reply:I see nothing wrong with that.
Reply:Absolutely not! Sounds great! Even better!
Reply:No, that would be very cool!

I got married in a botanical garden too. Have fun and congratulations!
Reply:I actually love the idea! I'd love to attend a wedding that wasn't church/banquet hall/chicken breast/dancing.
Reply:No, I think that would be fine.

If you really want to go with the theme, your wedding dress could be a komono. Make it out of white cloth with some pattern to it (i.e. a raised pattern in white), etc. The whole Geisha makeup thing. Maybe overkill on the theme, but I would think it would be really unique and interesting.
Reply:No, I think it's a great idea, actually.
Reply:It sounds like fun. I would go for it. Its your wedding, and you should have fun with it.
Reply:maybe a little, kinda cheap.... but rly, it is your wedding and it only matters what you and your hubby to be think!

congrats!
Reply:no it's awesome. cheesy would be applebee's!!!
Reply:its not cheesy at all...and regardless of what people think its your wedding...your dream...and i think everyone will love it
Reply:No that sounds wonderful
Reply:No it makes more sense. Having a Japanese wedding then some other culture for the reception would be a bit strange. Much better to keep it all one theme.
Reply:No! Why would you think that would be cheesy? I think it sounds GREAT!! It would be, as you said, carrying over the theme from the wedding site.

Yes, have it at the Japanese restaurant! Sounds fun.

Good luck!
Reply:No it's not cheesy but it's a bit odd to carry on the theme if your not Japanese.
Reply:Its not cheesy at all, sounds great.
Reply:I like it and would do it.. Its your wedding do as you wish!!
Reply:Sounds very unique and fun!
